4/28/05 How does Yahoo! treat meta tags?

"The meta-description tag is rarely used, she indicated, though search engines used to draw from this for their descriptions in their search result pages. If you want to get your calls to actions and key benefits into Google's results pages now she said, put them near the keyphrases you're optimizing for."

"Yahoo's algorithm does still consider the meta descriptions she said, and the sweet spot for them is 150-175 characters with spaces.
